Everyone knows the subject line is the most important part of an email promotion because that’s the first thing a recipient sees.
Here are 8 words that increased the open rate of email marketing, in a recent study:
Those 8 words had better results because they had a higher than average open rate, click rate, but lower than average unsubscribe rate.
According to email marketing specialists Adestra, the word “Sale” in a subject line was more effective than the word “Save” in getting your email opened.
Adestra tested 287 keywords in subject lines in 2.2 billion emails to see which words worked and which don’t. The results for each keyword were measured against average open rates, click rates, and unsubscribe rates (by industry).
The word “Daily” edged out “Weekly” for newsletter frequency while “Monthly” scored below average.
